Meet the Candidates

Micah Andrews

for President

Micah has served as the Director of Financial Accessibility and is the current Chief of Support and Access Services (SAS). As Chief of SAS, Micah created the Cavalier Career Closet, sourcing 2,000 professional clothing items for students. She also launched Cavalier Health, allocating $30,000 for medical care and providing 50+ students with free dental insurance. Under her leadership, SAS also provided free legal aid for 200+ students and stocked the Mutual Aid Free Store with over 6,000 hygiene products.

As a first-generation, low-income student, her background directly influences her passion for accessibility and advocacy for students.

Emily Frost

for VP for Administration

Emily has served as the Director of the History Committee and is the current Director of University Relations. As the director of University Relations, Emily has increased unique website visitors by over 100% and increased Student Council Instagram following by 33%.

As VPA, she intends to utilize the Alumni Relations branch of Administration to fundraise for a StudCo endowment. She also plans to livestream and archive StudCo’s general body meetings, in addition to increasing marketing of StudCo’s initiatives and legislation. To increase collaboration between the student body and StudCo leadership, she will institute mandatory office hours for directors.

Ben Lawrence

for VP for Organizations

Ben Lawrence is the current Director of Airbus in the Support and Access Services Branch. During his time as the Director of Airbus, he has ushered in a new era: cutting costs by 50%, breaking ticket sales records, improving marketing, and implementing data collection to provide performance benchmarks for years to come. 

As VPO, he plans to create an Organization Events agency to better promote and support CIOs. In addition, to better support underserved groups at UVA, he plans to establish a Transfer Student Activities Fair and increase marketing of resources for club interviews targeted at out-of-state and FGLI students. He also wants to add a section to the existing Hoos Concerned platform where CIOs can share their unique concerns.
